Maiya Coilton

Speech Pathologist (Clinical Fellow) & Executive Function Coach

Maiya Coilton, M.S., CCC-SLP, M.Ed. is a licensed speech-language pathologist and certified educator based in Washington, D.C. She earned her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Boston University and holds a Master of Arts in Education from the University of San Francisco, along with a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.

 

Maiya specializes in language-based disorders that affect a child’s communication, learning, and academic growth. She works with children who have learning disabilities, developmental language disorders, thorough screenings and personalized interventions focused on expressive and receptive language, literacy, and AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication). 

 

With experience in both general and special education, Maiya approaches language support through an academic lens, emphasizing evidence-based strategies informed by the latest research and advanced training. She supports students in oral language development, reading comprehension, written expression, and foundational literacy skills.

 

Her passion is helping children build strong language foundations that empower meaningful communication, foster confidence in learning, and promote lasting success in school and social environments.
