Michael is an experienced instructional leader with deep expertise in literacy and lanaguage education for students in grades 1-6. he specializes in literacy intervention, as well as creative and formulaic writing. Holding a Master's Degree in Reading, Language and Literacy, he is trained in multisensory curricula such as Visualizing and Verbalizing, SIPPS and other Orton-Gillingham-based programs.

In addition to his work at Learning Tree Coach, Michael contributes to Oakland Unified's literacy vision, supporting the implementation of evidence based literacy practices while coaching teachers. His prior experience includes serving as an instructor for the Bay Area Writing Project and teaching grades 1-6 throughout the Bay Area.
