Samantha holds a degree in Neurobiology from UC San Diego and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Speech and Language Pathology at CSU East Bay. Her academic background reflects a deep curiosity about how people learn and communicate, and she brings that same curiosity to every student she works with.

 

With more than a decade of experience in education, Samantha has worked across a variety of roles, including as a content tutor at UCSD’s Academic Achievement Hub, an instructor at Mathnasium, and a private tutor for middle and high school students. Since 2022, she has served as an Educational Coach, working with students across a wide range of ages and learning profiles.

 

As an Educational Coach, Samantha was trained under the guidance of an experienced Educational Therapist and has developed a strong foundation in supporting students with diverse learning needs. Samantha incorporates Orton-Gillingham methods and multisensory approaches to math instruction to help students build foundational skills in ways that are engaging, explicit, and accessible. She adapts her instruction to each learner, drawing on a combination of structured, multisensory strategies and individualized support.

 

For Samantha, the most rewarding part of the job is seeing a student’s perspective shift—that moment when something finally clicks. She believes that with the right approach, support, and encouragement, students can make meaningful progress and begin to see themselves as capable learners.

 

Outside of work, Samantha brings that same enthusiasm to her personal life, whether she’s testing out a new recipe in the kitchen or strategizing her way through a board game with friends and family.
